Funeral Services: Your Options

As the saying goes, 'In the midst of life, we are in death.' Losing a loved one or thinking about planning your own funeral is very going to be a very nice or easy process. However, it is an unavoidable fact of life that at some point we all have to face our own mortality. Last year, after losing my mother and father in close succession and making the arrangements for their funerals and burial, I decided to put some plans in place for my own funeral service so that it is easier for those I leave behind. I have learnt a lot about funerals and I would like to share it here.

3 Reasons Cremation Services Have Gained Surging Fame Across the World

Most people today don't just think of what they could do to live longer, but they also think about how they want to be interred once they die. While some people still choose to be buried when they die, others choose to be cremated. During cremation, the deceased's body is burnt into ashes, and it's often done at a crematorium. Various statistics reveal that the number of people who choose to be cremated has significantly increased across the globe. But why has cremation gained such surging fame among individuals of different cultural beliefs, races and religions? Keep reading!

Cremation Is Inexpensive Compared to Burial Funerals

Going by the cost aspect, most people choose cremation services because they are affordable, unlike the burial funerals that get expensive sometimes. If you narrow down to the 'breakdowns' of each of the two send-off ceremonies, you will find a significant difference in the expenses involved. For instance, people who choose a traditional burial ceremony spend more money on the casket, grave lot, mortician services, headstone, grave digging fees, casket transportation fees and open viewing services, among other memorial expenses. However, things are different for those who choose cremation services; they only pay for the general memorial services, cremation urns and body cremation. If you don't want to have an expensive or large send-off ceremony, cremation is the way to go.

Planning Isn't Daunting

Whether you choose to bury the deceased or cremate them, planning is inevitable. However, no one wants to develop a headache, wondering what to do with someone who will never come back to life. Most traditional burial ceremonies involve a lot of activities that sometimes make planning a daunting task. However, planning a cremation ceremony or service is easy since you don't have to transport the casket, arrange mortician services or transport the body. With cremation, you just need to put the ash in an urn and then carry it to the memorial service after cremating the body. With the simplicity that comes with the cremation funerals, the bereaved family members are able to support each other emotionally and have more time to mourn their loved one.

Cremation Offers Undeniable Flexibility

With cremation, you aren't bound just to a specific pattern or way of conducting a memorial service. Creativity isn't limited when planning a great and spirit-soothing cremation service. Cremation offers incredible flexibility when it comes to when, where and how the deceased would be interred. You don't have to conduct the cremation service at a funeral home; you can have it at other uncommon venues, such as landmarks, bars or even the seashore. If you don't want to encapsulate the cremated remains in an urn, you could use them in artwork, jewellery pieces or even tattoos, just to give homage to your loved one in a unique way.

When choosing cremation services, you don't just consider 'how' you would conduct them but also 'why' you want to choose them. Since cremation has become friendlier in different aspects, including having a positive impact on the environment, most people across the world find it a great way to give their loved ones a befitting homage or send-off.
